I reviewed a few hundred AppSumo comments this week and noticed something strange.
The comments most likely to end in refunds rarely contain words like:
refund
cancel
disappointed
Instead, they usually start as ordinary questions.
Examples:
"Can you share a list of supported stocks?"
"Is this feature on the roadmap?"
"I tried this but couldn't get it working."
The pattern I kept seeing was:
Question → no reply → frustration → negative review or refund later.
What surprised me most wasn't the complaints.
It was that founders were often actively replying elsewhere at the same time:
✓ Thanking happy customers
✓ Discussing feature requests
✓ Answering easy questions
While higher-risk comments sat unanswered for days.
It made me realize something:
Most founders don't have a visibility problem.
They have a prioritization problem.
Curious if others have noticed the same thing.
When you're launching, how do you decide which customer comments deserve attention first?
