I shipped a WooCommerce plugin that automates product content with AI — free + pro version, here's what I learned

Hey IndieHackers,

6 months ago I was manually writing product descriptions for my WooCommerce store and hitting a wall at 100+ products. I couldn't find a plugin that solved this end to end so I built one.

What I shipped

StoreScribe AI Free

Everything in free plus:

• Short description, alt text, tags
• SEO fields and meta description write directly into Yoast or RankMath

The thinking behind free vs pro

The free version handles the most common pain point — empty description fields. It gets store owners through the door and shows them what AI-generated content looks like inside their actual workflow.

Pro is for people who have a large catalog and need the whole thing automated — bulk generation, full SEO suite, image generation.

What I've learned so far

Distribution is the hardest part. Building took 6 months. Getting it in front of the right people is an ongoing challenge. Reddit has been the best channel so far — commenting on posts where people describe the exact problem converts better than any promotional post.

Numbers so far

Still early. Working on getting the first real sales beyond my own test purchase.
