For a long time, I thought the answer to better growth was simple;
just find the right tools.
So I kept adding them.
Analytics, dashboards, AI tools, automation…etc
But the more I added, the less clear things became.
I had data.
I had reports.
I had insights.
But I still couldn’t answer a basic question:
what actually worked?
Not in theory. Not in dashboards.
But in reality which decisions moved things forward.
That’s when I realized something uncomfortable:
Most of us don’t have a tool problem.
We have a clarity problem.
We try things, we experiment, we pivot…
but we don’t really track our decisions in a way that helps us learn from them.
So we repeat mistakes.
Or worse, we get lucky once and think we’ve figured it out.
Lately, I’ve been exploring a different approach:
Instead of adding more tools,
what if we just tracked our decisions properly?
Not just what we did, but:
why we did it
what we expected
what actually happened
Almost like building a memory for your product and growth.
I started building something small around this idea → https://getdale.com
Still early, still figuring it out.
But I’m curious
how do you currently track what’s actually working in your product or growth?
Or do you just rely on intuition and scattered data like I used to?
