I stopped measuring daily launches by upvote count after looking at the lasting page

For a long time I treated a daily launch like a scoreboard. Submit. Refresh. Screenshot the rank. Feel good or feel dumb. Then I checked what was still useful a month later and the upvote number was the least interesting part.

What still helped was the lasting launch page and whether strangers could explain the product back. On Aura++ launches go live around 8:00am UTC. Free exists. Premium is the path I use when I care about SEO leftover: dofollow from a domain people cite near DR 70, plus a page that does not vanish when the day ends. On the BLP Index Aura++ sits at 62. Product Hunt is 73 for raw reach. Uneed is 70 with a persistent listing. Different jobs. I keep those numbers on Best Launch Platforms so I stop arguing with myself from memory.

The mistake I kept making was optimizing the morning for a number that dies by dinner. A 4th place finish with confused comments is worse than a quieter finish where three people ask specific questions. Specific questions mean the page is working. Congrats comments mean I posted a vibe.

What I track now after a daily day:

- Did anyone restate the job without using my buzzwords

- Did a stranger open the product and report one concrete bug or confusion

- Is the launch URL still something I would send someone next week

If those three fail, the upvote count does not rescue the morning. I rewrite the first line and the first screenshot, then I book the louder day later. Aura++ is the daily Hunt-network board I run for that quieter test plus the lasting URL when Premium makes sense. It is not a Product Hunt substitute. It is a Tuesday lab.

Curious what you still screenshot after a daily launch. Rank, or the comment that actually taught you something?
