Hello friends,
I've been wanting to start this indie hacker / solo creator thing but every time that I think of an idea, I tend to write it down in my notes and then not do anything ever. I look at my ideas and it gives me a bit of anxiety about all the things I could think of creating but never prioritizing such work.
Then, I started reflecting on myself and I started journaling. I used an app called Stoic (highly recommend it!) on my phone and started writing down why did I want to build those things and whether I wanted to set up certain goals in my life. I use Obsidian and Apple Notes in my day to day, and I always struggled with my journaling habit in those apps, well because - in Obsidian you can set up a template but it's always static prompts that you fill over and over, or in Apple Notes there's not even a "Daily note" concept.
What hooked me is being able to read and reflect on something different every day. I got some inspiration as well from the Daily Stoic book by Ryan Holiday, which I think it's great.
After all of this, I decided to do something about it and fix this problem. So I'm building a tool to help you (and me) journal by using a different prompt each day, but not in a random way, but by maintaining the subject every week, so that your apprenticeship and building a habit becomes easy for beginners. Initially this will work with simple API requests, this way I can make integrations for all note taking apps if needed. And I will also try to provide a guide for every note taking app that you use.
The name is Stoic Minute and you can sign up for early access in stoicminute.com.
Once you subscribe you'll get an email just as a reminder of it and so I can send a further email when the tool is finished (or almost!) so that you can be the one of the first ones to try it. The email might get in Spam (I don't know why, I'd love some help with this), so make sure you mark it as safe.
I'd love to hear about how you currently journal or if you thought about starting to do it and if this is a tool that might help you.
Thank you!
Lucas
