I tested my own SaaS idea with an AI validator — got 88/100. Here’s what matched (and what didn’t)

I’ve been thinking a lot about idea validation lately.

Like many founders, I usually rely on:

  • Reddit
  • competitor research
  • gut feeling

Recently I tried something different — I ran my own SaaS idea through an AI validation tool.

The idea:
An AI tool for podcasters that turns episodes into titles, summaries, show notes, timestamps, and social content.

Result: 88/100

What was interesting:

  • It highlighted strong demand for content repurposing (which matches what I’ve seen manually)
  • It also flagged competition in the AI tools space (also true)

What it didn’t fully capture:

  • Niche positioning (specific types of podcasters)
  • Some qualitative insights you only get from real users

My takeaway:
It’s not a replacement for validation, but it’s a solid first filter before spending days researching.

Curious how others here validate ideas:
Do you rely more on manual research, talking to users, or tools like this?

  1. 1

one thing i didn’t mention — what surprised me most was how close the result was to what i found manually later

still not something i’d blindly trust, but definitely useful as a first filter

has anyone else tried validating ideas this way?
