I’ve tried several acquisition channels to get my projects in front of people, and cold email has probably been the one that gave me the least results for the most effort.
I spent several weeks sending dozens of personalized emails, and ended up getting only a handful of replies.
With social media and so many acquisition channels available today, does cold email still have a place?
Curious to hear what you think.
My latest project, for those curious:
Great breakdown. What feedback have you had from early users?
What made you pick this stack over the alternatives?
Makes sense. Are you planning to charge for it, or keep it free for now?
Clear and practical, thanks. Did anything surprise you along the way?

Interesting. How are you measuring whether it is working?
Really solid approach — I'm juggling something similar myself (building Xstream4K on the side), what's been the hardest part for you so far?
The hardest part so far has definitely been finding the right acquisition channels and getting consistent traffic. The building part was actually pretty straightforward for me.
Acquisition and finding the right acquisition channels for my project.

Cold email is easier to evaluate when the message mirrors a small proposal: lead with the outcome, state the scope, give a clear price or ask, and end with one next step. A reusable toolkit/checklist is often more useful than training when testing lots of outreach variations.
Thanks for the advice! Do you have any tools you’d recommend?

This is great work — what's the biggest thing you'd do differently if you started over?
If I had to start over, I’d probably focus on acquisition earlier instead of spending so much time building.
