Hey everyone
Back in May 2022 I launched my first side project ever.
MovyDick - a movie recommendation app
In August 2022 I released the v2 with a new landing page.
I'm preparing for a ProductHunt launch but I think by now that my landing page that I didn't update for the last 6 months suck now haha
Can you roast it for me?
@designaas actually built a positively hilarious business which could handle this. http://roastd.io/
Personally though, one small note is the benefits/features section columns are too close together
Hey thanks for the referral, happy to help!
From a quick glance, I would say that there should be a CTA at the bottom of the landing page as well and not just the top. People will flip to another app/website if they get to the bottom and there's nothing there.
Also your CTA should be more stronger than Start Now. Maybe a movie relate pun?
thank you so much for the feedback, yeah the "start now" call to action has absolutely nothing to do with movies, shows or anything of that, that's why it sucks - i absolutely need to change it for sure - thank you so much.
About including a CTA at the bottom too is a very good idea, i had it but then i removed it before. I really don't know why haha
I think about including the CTA in almost every feature section. Like "Get a free movie recommendation now" or something like that. What do you think?
I would test a few out and see what gets the most clicks.
However I would write something like.
"🔓Unlock your free movie recommendation now"
thanks for the feedback, i will see.
Here is my opinion, it may not be what you are looking for, you should ask this to your users, but fair point this way you may find some. I mean who doesn't watch movies.
An example of title could be:
The place to discover what to watch next
The 5 minute stop to find your next favourite movie
One click, one suggestion
the subtitle is good:
the call to action could be something more emotional: find your next go-to just click here
The page needs little more
everywhere
On /blog:
I don't like the animation when hovering
Best
The page itself is neat, but may be a shorter headline would serve better. It should be something shorter and attention grabbing.
Like "stream your world with MovyDick" or "Join the Streaming Revolution with MovyDick".
I just felt "Pick a movie/show recommendation super fast & stop doomscrolling on Netflix" is too long.
