I think they call it entrepreneurial guilt...

"I think they call it entrepreneurial guilt. A friend was in town so all of these guys who had full-time jobs were taking the day off, which was super rare. I was at home just doing my business and they called me. They were like, 'Okay, we're getting beers and we know you can get the day off because you work at home.' So I went. All day I was just constantly checking my phone with some level of anxiety and guilt. Like, I had to be doing something all the time. I felt like I was neglecting my business or something. That day really messed with me because I got to the end of it and I was like, 'What the hell am I doing? I'm supposed to be here with my friends and I've just been shitty all day, worrying that I wasn't serving my business.' It was a pretty big turning point for me. I refuse to feel like that ever again. That's why I've set my business up so that work is always being done, even when I'm not around. Whether it's through process or staff or automation, when I'm with my friends, I'm just with my friends — I don't think about work at all. It's made a really significant difference to my life."⠀

    Nice reminder. Thanks for sharing.

Have you considered mediation practice? It helps for mindset shifting.

I have to keep a "Done List" personally just to remind myself that I'm getting things done. Otherwise it's sort of a Hedonic treadmill (whatever the new normal is, it feels like not doing anything after a few weeks, even if it's productive).

And my partner kind of sees it as me not really having a full-time job, even though I'm constantly working. It's a good thing I'm making decent money, haha!

Haha yeah I do this exact same thing for the same reason!

I use Zapier to add finished to-dos to a Google Spreadsheet so I can look back and be like "oh man look how much I got done!"
