I thought building a great product team would be hard. Turns out, earning global trust is harder.

Reflections from building Cognimuse — a small-town team with big ambitions

I work with a small but ambitious product studio called Cognimuse - based in India, built by people from Tier 2 and 3 cities.

When I joined, I was excited by the idea:
ethical, transparent, fast, founder-first software services.
A team that actually cares about what they build.

We have everything a startup or founder could need —
devs, designers, AI engineers, product thinkers.
We move fast. We’re reliable. We build with intent.

I honestly believed that if we just delivered great work, global founders would find us.

They didn’t.

And that’s been the biggest lesson so far -
great output doesn’t automatically mean great reach.

We’ve realized that building products is one skill.
But building trust across borders — that’s a completely different game.

Now, we’re learning to talk about what we do.
To show our process.
To let the world see what goes into an ethical, small-town team trying to make global impact.

It’s humbling :(
And a bit terrifying :((
Feels like starting from scratch - same curiosity, just a different language.
