I tried out APIToolkit: An API monitoring platform: here's what I learnt

Building APIs is stressful, I shouldn't have to bother about managing my endpoints, observability, tracking errors and even outward facing documentation. So I searched for a tool to help me with all of that and I found a treasure Trove in APIToolkit. The name is intuitive to its services. It's a complete toolkit for all your API needs.

With APIToolkit, I was able to

  • Monitor all my requests with its Log Explorer (incoming and outgoing)
  • Track errors to their root cause (this was really useful for debugging)
  • Manage the performance of my APIs
  • Generate documentation via AI. This is one of my favourite features. I don't like writing documentation.

And because APIToolkit watches the requests made to my APIs and gives me data points on a number of metrics per request, I felt very free to make mistakes, lol..
If you have APIs or you're building some, give it a try and let me know how much it helped.
