I tweeted 88 times over 32 days with a new account. Here's the overview + takeaways.

On the last day of January, I started consistently using Twitter, I'd like to give you an overview of how is going.

Some context

• I created a new Twitter account and started using it on the 31st of January.
• I joined Twitter to stop building in the dark, to connect with people, share what I learn and stay accountable.
• I tweet about Micro-SaaS and the blog I'm building, howindiefella.com. The community gives a lot to me, this is my attempt to give something back.
• My account is pseudonymous (I'm shy and I need to feel comfortable while tweeting)

Statistics

Here's a quick overview of what happens.

What I did

• 88 Tweets, 425 if counting replies, retweets and quote tweets.
• 2.75 Tweets Per Day on Average (Highest 5, lowest 1)
• 0 Threads :)
• Tweeted between 2:00 and 6:00 CET (in EST is: 8:00 and 12:00)
• Analytics tracked with BlackMagic and TweetHunter
• Scheduled most of my Tweets using TweetHunter
• followed 154 accounts, mainly Indiehackers, devs and designers.

My Takeaways

Having a goal and sharing it

Tweets that get more impressions, likes and followers are the ones about what I'm building, howindiefella.com

The most "successful" tweet is where I share my goal for the incoming future, claiming that I start building this community project in public.

The less impactful tweets are the most generic ones, which sounds more like advice without reflecting my personality.

I use them to not break my streak, and appear in the Twitter feed. But is pointless.

I'm evaluating to not tweet at all if I don't have something personal to share :).

Content and Structure

• I'm using hashtags for most of my tweets. I think is kinda mandatory when starting. I also noticed that sometimes bots retweets my tweet.
  They get triggered by keywords such as "Indiehacking" and "buildinpublic". I usually use 2 hashtags per tweet.
• I try to use emojis in every tweet, and I stick with those 3: 💎, 🦾 & 🤝. Why? IDK, I like it.
• When possible, I add Images using cineroll.co, the tweet looks more colourful and attract more.

Scheduling and Auto-retweets

I schedule most of my tweets, I even managed to schedule one entire week before.

I also use the auto-retweet of TweetHunter, it retweets my tweets twice after 8 hours. After sometimes I found this a bit spammy, now I'm only retweeting once, to reach a different timezone.

Engaging with people

I reach people using the Twitter search functionality and some TweetHunter features, searching for those keywords "startup, micro-saas, saas, build in public, developer, freelancer, software ideas, UI/UX design".

This helps me to reach people that talk about what I'm interested in and grow my social circle around topics I enjoy.

I don't use any other social media 'cause the feed I have is completely pointless and chaotic.

Having a good feed is the most important factor for me.

Conclusion

I'm enjoying being on Twitter now, I read topics I like, from interesting fellas out there + I get a boost in motivation and inspiration.

I'm committed to staying in the loop, without losing my streak, sharing and growing my builder side in public through experiments & micro-SaaS.
