I used ChatGPT to develop a start-up

Was Zencal's integration with iCloud a pleasant experience? No. Did artificial intelligence help it? Perhaps. And how does ChatGPT fit into all this? I'm already telling you 👇

Google and Microsoft are companies that provide a REST API, which is one of the most convenient forms of communication (for me) during integration. Integration with iCloud, on the other hand, is done using the CalDav protocol.

This is not such a popular protocol in the world of today's web applications. Using it, therefore, requires a bit more effort and understanding of how to do it. In other words, you need to know the protocol.

The material that can be found on the internet is not top-notch in terms of simplicity of use. This is when ChatGPT comes in all-in white. All I had to do was ask him a few questions along the lines of:

  • "How does the CalDav protocol work".
  • "How to make a sample query to CalDav using CURL".

ChatGPT answers give examples. Are they perfect? Of course not. Do they allow you to find a starting point for further learning? Of course, they do. Step by step in combining ChatGPT and other material I found on Google, here it is - integration with iCloud accounts in Zencal.

Btw. Zencal is free 👉 https://zencal.io 👈
