I used to hate salespeople

in my view, salespeople were:

• Pushy
• Dishonest
• Unethical

That's what I used to say in the past.

Sorry salespeople for this🙁

Thanks Indie Hackers and @rosiesherry for opening my mind and growing an incredible community!

Sales = engagement+trustfulness+non-pushy+reputation+...

    How apt.

    I just posted this today: Holy Shit. Sales is Hard

    I'd disagree with you on one thing though. Sales people have to be pushy. Or as we refer to it: "persistent". ;)

    I'm a salesperson, been in the trenches for 11 years. As with other fields, there's the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

    Also, I'm going to challenge your definition of sales. I don't think engagement matters, neither does "non-pushy". It's all about being "more" human that you'd typically be. It's a competition against yourself. With the right set of values, it's becoming the best version of yourself.

    Happy to discuss further more!

      When I say engagement, I mean talk more openly and give value before pushing products/services towards customers. Giving honest feedback how the product being sold can help, in a trustful way. It’s what I see hapening here. People want to sell products and services, but they give value and engage in natural conversation. Giving value upfront.

      You know any spammy forum? Most people hate them. It’s similar concept to pushy sales people imho.
