Build projects.
Improve your portfolio.
Apply everywhere.
Simple.
Then I moved to another country, started university, and began applying seriously.
I sent application after application and noticed something weird:
Some rejections came almost instantly.
Some companies never replied.
Some applications felt like they disappeared into a black hole.
At first I blamed experience.
Then my projects.
Then my English.
Eventually I discovered something I should’ve understood much earlier:
A lot of resumes are filtered before humans even see them.
I started digging into ATS systems, resume structure, keywords, and job descriptions.
What surprised me most:
Many people don’t actually have a skills problem.
They have a positioning problem.
Two candidates can have similar experience, but one gets interviews while the other gets ignored.
That became an obsession for me.
So I started building a small experiment around this problem — an AI tool that analyzes and improves resumes based on specific roles.
Not because “AI SaaS” sounded cool.
Because I personally needed it.
Still validating.
Still learning.
Still figuring things out.
Curious:
Have you ever discovered that the real problem wasn’t what you originally thought?
