It started from a simple problem: creating a usable custom font still takes too much manual work. You may have a style idea or reference image, but turning it into a real TTF / WOFF2 file is not exactly beginner-friendly.
FontDance tries to shorten that workflow: prompt or upload a reference, preview the generated font, then download the font files.
Still early, but I’d love feedback from designers or makers who have ever needed a custom typeface.
What stood out to me is that generating a font and choosing a font are very different problems.
A designer can love the idea of unlimited custom typefaces and still use the same handful repeatedly.
I'd be curious whether the strongest signal ends up coming from people who need new fonts, or people who need confidence in a specific visual direction.
