I’ve built websites for years. Contact forms are still rubbish.

I’m building Leadfire.

It’s an AI assistant that sits on a website, engages users, answers visitor questions, asks follow-up questions, and helps turn vague traffic into proper enquiries.

I’ve been a web developer and marketer for years, and one thing I keep seeing is how much effort goes into websites that still end with the same dead little form - usually with the same name, email, "message" (yuck) textboxes - and it's usually something like "How much is it".

No context, no service, no area - nothing of any use without a follow up, if you actually check your email inbox in time - and let me tell you, when small business owners are out working all day, and they have 100 other things to deal with - this happens a lot more than anyone would care to admit. 🙄 Not to mention the need for captchas to (or try to) alleviate the spam.

I started building Leadfire because I think the enquiry layer on most small business websites is broken.

We’ve made websites faster, prettier, more responsive, more trackable, more SEO'd, more everything - but for a lot of normal businesses, the actual conversion point is still a static form from 2009.

Leadfire is my attempt at fixing that.

Leadfire acts as a conversion layer - watching visitor behaviour, pages visited etc - determines intent and engages appropriately - guiding the conversation towards qualified lead capture - before shooting off a summary to the business via Whatsapp or through CRM integrations using webhooks.

So businesses actually get something useful like:

Service: rubbish collection
Area: Worthing
Waste: 2 sofas, a desk and 3 bin bags of rubbish
Volume: half van load estimated.
Timing: this week (preferably monday)
Access: ground floor, no on-street parking
Name: Bob
Email: bob@
Telephone: 07...
Overview:
Bob's had a clearout, he's got a few old sofas, some bags of old clothes and a rotten desk he needs collecting from his son's house in worthing. his son will be around on monday - be aware, there is no where to load up on the main road. Call him back at 4.30.

Nothing magical. Just actually useful.

Where we're at:

  • WordPress plugin is live on the repo, and installed on about 20 customer sites

  • universal embed snippet works, so the widget works on any website

  • Shopify app is nearly there!

  • dashboard has leads, conversations and analytics, behavioural data, AI widget adaptation based on previous conversations and user interactions etc

  • WhatsApp delivery works instantly

  • One early user gained 51 leads in the first 4 weeks

I'm aiming this at the businesses that usually get ignored by shiny SaaS stuff:

waste clearance firms, roofers, dog groomers, driveway companies, trades, local service businesses, and smaller ecommerce stores where people need to ask questions before buying. Basically, businesses where "just add a form" is not really good enough.

Would love honest feedback from anyone who’s sold to small businesses, built client sites, worked with trades, or dealt with lead gen.

I’m bootstrapping it, moving fast, probably breaking small things, fixing them, and trying not to turn it into bloated SaaS soup.

The goal is simple:

help normal businesses get better enquiries from the website they already have.
