I’ve spent the last 8 months building an audience (30K)… now what?

I now have around 30k followers on twitter. I can already tell you that building an audience is such a great way of finding a product-market fit in my experience. The problem is that it takes a lot of dedicated time, free giveaways, and attention to get people join your account. It dramatically slowed me from building my products.

What is the best way to get them using my upcoming app?

Thanks!

    What is your app?

I spoke with a bunch of folks with twitter audiences and it hasn't helped them much with SaaS products.

But it seems to be great for courses.

    1. 1

I would agree - As twitter audiences are not the same value as newsletter audiences.

    2. 1

      Hmm…
I possibly can add online courses in the app as a feature. Will see how to do that.

twitter audiences are unreliable and fickle. You have no idea whether a bot or real human is following you. Just keep that in mind.

    1. 1

True in many cases. But engagement in my account is reasonable so far.

The question is whether your target audience for your app is part of that 30k you have gathered.

Post about your upcoming app to your followers and gauge their interest. If they are not engaging in your posts, then you know that they are not your targets.

      This is true.
I actually receive at least 10 DMs daily asking for help with the same problem my app is solving. So, I am pretty confident that this is the right audience :)

Then, yes, you are on the right track. And are they also clicking on your link and being added to your email list?

        1. 1

I have not started building an email list…but I might start it today!

Once your app is ready for alpha or beta users, you could try to directly DM users about how your app benefits them. Make the messages personal and highlight the value that the user derives from your app, instead of just the features that you have.

After they start using your app, you could maybe ask permission and share some stories about how specific users are benefitting from your app.

Then you could also have giveaways specifically for followers who share their photos or tweets about using your app.

I really love your ideas! They sound very reasonable.
Many thanks for helping me out, @notAnotherVivek :)

Create a newsletter, and blog articles.

    1. 1

But I already have an audience. How would newsletters and blogs get them onboard my app?

        The Marketing Rule of 7

The Rule of 7 states that a prospect needs to “hear” the advertiser's message at least 7 times before they'll take action to buy that product or service.

        1. 1

Interesting! I will keep that in mind.

Can you show previews of your upcoming app?
I'm planning to do something like '12 days of new features' in which I give a little sneak peak to 12 new features or quick wins that will be releasing soon. I saw Notion do something similar last year around the holidays and it picked up good interest!

    1. 1

Sounds like a cool idea! I will go and research it to see how Notion pulled it off.
      Thanks, Allison!

Would love to hear more about how you were able to gather the audience.

I've been building software recently as a starter. My product related to NFT users, most of them are grinding in Discord. Do you have reccomendation how do I should build the audience?

    1. 2

You could do a brief research. As recently I did for https://freezapk.com/roblox-mod-apkk/ . SO I will share the steps which I followed. First of all you have to check your interest in NFT that what type of NFT do you like. Then you have to research some previous work. And then you will analyze the movement of you competitors that how they improve from zero to millions.

      1. 1

noted! thanks a lot for sharing. Good luck as always

You need the right followers. Generic followers are nothing. But around an idea and if you're known for something super valuable. I have 3k listeners on my podcast about selling on Amazon. Some of them will do anything I suggest. Especially if it's use my software product!

My audience are restaurant & coffee shops owners. I am now trying to plan how to get them use an app that I built for them. I am hoping to read some real life experiences and tips on onboarding them quickly.

It sounds like you're basically asking on how to launch is that right??? I can tell you how I did it. Some things worked, some things didn't. I built anticipation buy telling people a few weeks in advance what I was launching. I then started collecting webinar signups.

Upon launch I had 100 people in the webinar. They knew me and trusted me to deliver. I had about 60 signups the first day. Trickled in after that... and then begins the real work.

If you're solving a real problem for a business. You can monetize. I just spent 10 days doing this copywriting course. There's plenty of ways to apply the content here into something that you can do to start selling and launching.

I like the anticipation building approach. I have a couple of concerns, though. First, some of my competitors are actually among my Twitter followers and by telling my followers what I am building weeks ahead of launching it, would alert those competitors and they will definitely add those features into their apps before I launch my own.
I am aware that competition will do this ultimately, but I’d prefer to not let them be ahead of me if I can.
The other concern is…how can I tell my followers about the app before it is actually ready? Should I just talk about it or show them some screenshots of the completed screens or what exactly?
Thanks for taking the time to hell me, AMZDeveloper :)

What is a better way of quickly testing and validating your app ideas in your opinion?

      1. 3

Get sales before you even build the product.
(depending on the product, of course. sometimes presales aren't possible)

Next best is to get as many people to buy on the day you launch. Hype it up to your audience, but most importantly, make direct contact with your biggest possible customers.

        1. 2

          I like these ideas :)
          Thank you, Matt!
