I want to meet new people and talk to the about my favorite topics!
Why should we brainstorm?
I learn a lot online, and something I'm missing is the debate and brainstorming aspect of learning.
At Uni I had my friends to brainstorm on the learned topics, but current online learning solutions don't support this.
Why do I think it's important?
I learn from how other people think. It's also fun and it makes me want to come ready to a brainstorm session. It's a form of a study group. Therefore I keep progressing. It also confronts me with gaps in my knowledge and strengthens the places where I'm strong.
Is anyone else interested?
I built https://trideate.com as a way to gamify this concept and make brainstorming fun and exciting :)
I Checked it out 😎. I want something that happens live.
That said, I think this can be (with slight modifications) a great tool for practicing a formal debate. Try approaching debate communities and see what they think about it. I was a debater and I think this kind of product would have interested me back then.
Currently working on a few other apps built on top of the platform, the first one being Bankroller which is a live investing game where you "invest" points in the best solution to a prompt. Another one I want to build out is a live version of trideate where you can go back and forth in a live chat with each person taking on one of the roles. This first iteration is all about being async since I am growing (or attempting) to grow the user base :D
Yep I'd be interested - ping me when you launch the product that facilitates this kind of thing! :)
If someone put this together, what would the dream setup look like for you?
Checkout https://trideate.com
I would be interested.
I'm also learning constantly and I miss having friends to discuss, brainstorm and build things with. It was much easier when I was in college.
Are you thinking of building a product around this?
If enough people are interested then we can start thinking about how such a product will look, but first I want to find some brainstorming buddies 😎
Edit: I had previously posted a product idea I was working on thinking you were looking for something along that line, but looking at your profile, I see you already built a product (https://www.indiehackers.com/product/jiruto) that does what you're looking for, so I'm removing this - don't want to step on your toes.
Good luck with Jurito!
Please post your product!
We host cohort-based courses and for each cohort we gave the possibility of forming learning groups.
I thought about using a variant of this feature but I want to hear what people need/want first. Might not be the best way.
So please share what you’re working on too!
Ok! My original post was:
I'm working on a platform to help match people who are looking for help, mentorship, chat, and collaboration. It will be focused on "real-time" connections at first - meaning that you're looking to connect with somebody "right now", as that seems to be a gap in any current solutions, but I'm planning on expanding it to regular or scheduled connections, and group projects.
The general idea being, when you sign up, you create a profile with your skills, interests, and needs.
When you find you're interested in either giving or receiving help or advice or mentorship, or just chatting, you indicate so on the platform, and it will try to match you with somebody who's looking for the same thing, same languages, same skills, and allow you to say yes or no to the match, and if it's a "yes" from both parties, provide the connection information (Zoom, or Tuple or Slack or whatever).
After the session, rate the other person, maybe friend them, and in the future, add them to your project/group.
If you're interested, please add yourself to my waiting list: https://pairmatch.us
Interested in any feedback you might have about the concept!
Are you looking for people to discuss things with, or build a product for this?
How would these brainstorming groups be different than study groups for specific courses? I'm wondering how many people have this problem, maybe it comes down to making more friends.
I want to find people to brainstorm with. The main verticals in which I’m experienced are:
ML, DL, CNN, Distributed Systems, BlockChain, Entrepreneurship, and EdTech (CBC, and educational communities)
Unfortunately my friends aren’t versed in all (for some any) of these topics. I’m more than open to meet new and random people to discuss these topics.
A product is always on the table in IH 😎. I want to check first how many people feel the same and want to talk about my favorite topics :D
I'm interested in all of those same topics
I'm down to brainstorm/discuss ideas, if you set something up count me in
Awesome, will do!
Definitely more than interested. Just let me know how you wanna go about it.
I would be down
Checkout https://trideate.com! Geared towards gamifying the brainstorming process
So, there's the Dialup app, haven't tried it yet, but it looks promising.

I wish to find people for brainstorming on many topics. Not necessarily the same people, but people interested in each topic.
Can you please elaborate on your suggestion?
