I want to help you with your YouTube thumbnails

I thought I'd offer my services for free now that we have a IH YouTubers group 😊

For all the YouTubers on IH I want to help you maximize the clickthrough-rate on your thumbnails so you can get more views on your videos. I recently launched a service to help YouTubers with this, Thumblytics makes it super quick and easy to test thumbnails with hundreds of people. By doing this, YouTubers can then use better performing thumbnails and get more views!

I would like to offer 10 FREE thumbnail tests to IHs on a first come first serve basis. Just comment your channel below 👇

For those who miss out on the 10 free tests, I'd still like to offer my help! If you post your thumbnail(s) for your next video I'll do my best to offer you a few tips on how you can improve it. I've seen a lot of thumbnails during the process of building and trying to market Thumblytics so I should be able to give some actionable tips!

    Hi 👋 Yang,

It looks an amazing idea. Looks like a complement of our product Kickass Tuber (we sell thumbnail designs among other things). Maybe we can partner up somehow ... 🤔.

Thank you! Would you be interested in a free thumbnail test?

      1. 1

hmm. sure? what would you need from me?

        1. 1

To run the test all I need from you is 3 versions of a thumbnail (e.g. could be a thumbnail for an upcoming video). This could be as simple as a thumbnail with text on it, the same thumbnail without text and one other variation.

In terms of how to send me the thumbnails, please DM the thumbnails to me over Twitter @thumblytics

honestly, that feels like a lot of work atm.

            (feedback on your current process).

              No problem!

We are working on making the process smoother and easier!

I see you have a consistent style of thumbnail across your videos which is great. I think for technical videos with a process it can be helpful to show logos (which I see you've done for Tailwind) and also preview the product/process (perhaps screenshot of the code or something along those lines)

I like the style of your thumbnails and can see you have a style going over the most recent two videos. A quick fix I'd mention is to make the green-yellow text slightly larger, it's quite hard to read without zooming in.

You thumbnails look good! Can definitely see that UI experience coming through!
Happy to run a test for you, it could be for a video you’ve already released or are planning to release soon - completely up to you.

How many responses are needed to reach a 95% or above statistical significance? 30? 50? 100?

Also, do you have any results showing that YouTubers who implemented the results from the tests ended up getting more traffic to their channels?

    1. 1

      Hi there 👋

      Great questions!

The number of responses required to achieve statistical significance will vary based on how large you define your target audience to be (some people may define this to be all of YouTube). In addition the level of statistical significance required (for sufficient confidence and comfort) for a thumbnail decision will vary between individuals.

For example if you need 95% significance (probably higher than what most people need for YouTube thumbnails) and you define your population as the whole of YouTube (2billion users), you would need around 400 responses.

So far, we have focused on testing before publishing and haven’t been around for long enough to collect the data to show increased viewership unfortunately.
