Like some of you out there I feel like I'm living in two worlds. The first world is my day job which is Hunter. A branding agency I co-founded back in 2010. And the second is a new venture we've been wanting to get off the ground since 2019 called Rightful Food. It's a Food & Beverage Innovation Company... that requires some large investment so we can supercharge it... and also some willing customers so we can test the concept.
The most challenging thing for me is there's so much to do and splitting my time between running an agency and trying to launch this new venture... and some days I just wake up and want to scream. I know many of you have been in this situation and I'm wondering how you deal with it?
Ok. Back to work.
Yes, been there, just getting out of there, hopefully.
The frustration of lack of action or traction is real.
In these situations I try to:
Amazing Rosie. Absolutely. Thank you for your kind words and support.
Yup. Indie hacker route is tough if pulling nights and weekends.
Pandemic has made me absolutely hate my job in medicine. At the same time getting pulled for extra shifts leaves me too tired to work on the side business.
We're super sorry to hear that. Thankfully I'm at a stage to not work stupid hours and do things I don't want to do. We hope things turn around and sending good vibes your way.
Totally understand this, so frustrating some times when all you want to work on is your exciting side project and the day job gets in the way.
Unfortunately don't have any great suggestions as we have been struggling with this as well.
Sell your agency and deep into your venture.
We're not ready to sell. I had a good chat to a friend of mine today who does amazing work with CEOs. For Matt (my co-founder) and me to work on the new project we need to replace ourselves within the next 3-6 months. So we are putting plans in place for that. Watch this space ;)
Good luck!
You are making the world a better place to live in.
I'm not sure if you're referring to us or to Gerald above? We're doing stuff we love and we're def. creating value for our clients. Hopefully the work we do... has a bigger impact on the world in some way, shape or form.
It's important to comprehend that you are the most important asset of your business and that without you it won't work. You must be healthy both physically and mentally for it to work, take care of yourself. Hi, I can help you calm down and overcome these challenging moments (do it for a living). Let's connect on Twitter and make sure it doesn't escalate into a breakdown in future.
Thanks Denis, I'm all good. I have a great team, community and family around me. Some days I do just feel like screaming... but mostly I'm super positive and are used to ups and downs of life. There will always be challenges, which we all know.
Seeing this "Solar storm knocks out 40 newly launched satellites from Elon Musk's SpaceX" makes my issues much smaller and insignificant. Elon has had so many setbacks and still moves forward with humour. You have to admire that.
