As a solo maker, planning my product launch felt chaotic. I tried setting up a project in Jira and immediately got lost in a sea of workflows, sprints, and custom fields. My notes were a mess, and I was spending more time configuring the tool than actually planning the work.
All I really wanted was a clean, high-level view of what needed to be done.
So, I built this Simple Product Launch Planner inside my own app, Toad. It’s a simple grid that breaks the launch down into four clear phases (Planning, Core Build, Pre-Launch Polish, and Launch & Feedback) and maps them against the different "hats" I have to wear (Product, Frontend, Backend).
It gives me a clear, one-page overview of my entire launch without any of the noise. You can see what it looks like here - https://www.meettoad.co.uk/templates/entrepreneurs/
This is the core of my "purposefully simple" philosophy—giving you clarity, not more features. You can see at a glance what needs to be done for the "Core Build" across both frontend and backend, and it’s flexible enough to add a "Marketing" column when I'm ready.
I'm sharing this because I have a feeling I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'd love to know if this kind of simple, visual planner is genuinely useful for other founders.
As a thank you, any fellow Indie Hackers who sign up and give feedback will get a free lifetime Personal account.
