I wanted to make heavy metal documentaries on YouTube. I ended up building an AI instead.

Six months ago I wanted to go back to a dead YouTube channel with 2K subs, about heavy metal biographies.
The problem wasn't ideas, it was time. Every video took 10-20 hours. Research, scripting, voiceover, editing. I have a full-time job. I don't have 20 hours per video.
I wasn't looking for an AI tool, I was just trying to solve my own problem. So I built Contentify.
You type a topic → AI writes the narration script → searches Google Images per paragraph (real photos, not stock footage) → generates voiceover → assembles a complete 1080p video ready to upload. Cost per video: ~$0.05.
Stack: Next.js, Python, Celery, Edge TTS, Cloudflare R2, Railway.
Where I'm at today:

Live at contentify.video
Launched on Product Hunt this morning
0 paying users
~40 real visitors in the last 2 weeks
$100/month marketing budget

The product works. Finding people who need it urgently is the hard part.
Would love feedback from the IH community. Especially on positioning and how to find the first paying user, the biggest pain right now.

Happy to answer any questions.

I know a few content creators who create video content and are actively seeking automation tools, and I bet they'd be happy to answer your questions for free on positioning and finding your first user. Let me know if you want me to pass them along.
