I was permanently banned in Twitter 😐

Yesterday morning, I opened my to-do list. There was one nagging task that I have been delaying for months: reply to all DMs on Twitter. There were roughly 100 missed DMs.
People reach me out often there. Half of them ask questions about my project. The other half wants me to upvote their thing on Product Hunt.
To people who need me to press "Upvote" I reply with a template. Here it is:
"Hey! I supported you (put my upvote) 👍 Good luck on your launch.
P.S. Check my YouTube channel about launching on Product Hunt.

So I sent this text to roughly 25 people who asked me for an upvote.
And got my account permanently suspended. I'm also disallowed to create a new account 😇
Your account is permanently in read-only mode, which means you can’t post, Repost, or Like content. You won’t be able to create new accounts.
Lessons:
- According to Twitter's documentation, your account gets blocked after 500 DMs. But I barely sent 50 DMs. Be careful.
- Do not send copy-paste. Type.
- The most important: you do not own your Twitter account. Do not put all eggs in 1 basket.
P.S.: I at least now I do not have to watch/read the 3 Twitter courses I bought 😅
Question: what are some places to post my stuff? LinkedIn is cringey. Facebook is Facebook. Looking to try Polywork, Peerlist (modern LinkedIn clones) and niched communities (Solo Founders, WIP, Makerlog).

Peerlist looks like soon it will make sense. LinkedIn has a lot of content that nobody actually reads, but somehow shows a lot of views.
Maybe this is the time to start discussing starting Indie Twitter :D

I think the third learning is the most important. If you already have audience and can move it to another platform somehow, perhaps you could try to post to Telegram.
Surely you can appeal?
Yes it is possible to appeal which I did. Folks from Reddit said they take from 2 hours to 2 years to reply.
Why Twitter account banned for 3 days?

From a developer standpoint I can see how this behaviour would trigger anti-spam systems. From an experienced developer standpoint I can see how amateur that anti-spam system is.
I can understand that. If I were in charge of the product team and had to fight millions of spambots, I would also often make wrong decisions. But I'd also let people to appeal, at least for old accounts with history, with real followers, with real engagement, with the Pro badge.
does that mean those auto-dm solutions are kinda illegal on Twitter??
I would not use any of them.
Just checked your YouTube playlist on Product Hunt. Made me want to launch LLMine (https://github.com/LLMine/llmine_core) there. Do you think Open Source products like these will do well there? What do you recommend OSS project maintainers to do to prepare for a good launch?
OpenSource products are not popular there. Mostly because people of Product Hunt want to play with a product they see there. Your tool has difficult requirements to launch. If you could host a demo by yourself, it could work.
On a side note, consider launching on https://devhunt.org/
DevHunt is a Product Hunt alternative made exclusively for Open Source projects. My friends are building it! 😀

Just checked DevHunt. Awesome place. It's not exclusive to Open Source, but exclusive to Developer Tools. I will explore it for a few days and write about it to my audience on LinkedIn (as they are mostly developers).

Yes it could work! Unless until they figure out how to detect similar pieces of text. Then you are screwed 😄
They probably have system to detect reply rate, if your message is ignored most of the time it probably consider it as spam.
And of course if people reported you than it will end up the same.
To avoid this the best thing is to message people on what they like ( personalization ) and then after some conversation then bring your objective to the conversation.
Thats why copy paste will most likely end up in spam.
