Hey guys, I was thinking t rebrand my diary app which is currently called memoiri to something that might help in search, like my diary or diary, what do you think should I stick with the old name? or should I go for the rebranding? I am currently having a blog with about 60 entries and over 500 downloads for the app.
In my opinion the name of your app is just fine.
It is related to its function which is good.
And your website looks good.
I don't think that the name change will lead to better SEO.
Your blog has a sufficient number of entries.
The oldest post is from February, this year.
SEO takes time.
Usually months.
Sometimes even more.
My advice is simple:
Yours,
KodingKitty
Thanks a lot! I am also not 100% sure about the rebranding thats why i thought about asking :)
I think is a great idea for the SEO, It gonna help with it.
I would rebrand to something easier to remember how to spell. If someone sees it and then a week later wants to check it out again, the name should be reasonably easy to remember.
I saw something about the best way to create names is to get two words for a name. It increases the chances the domains and stuff are free and it's easy to remember, pronounce.
Example, ConvertKit, BillaBear, etc
When using two words like morningdiary would you use morning-diary or morningdiary as domain name?
I would go with morningdiary.com
Do you think that it wont be a big deal for my already users and seo change the name?
SEO wise just redirect the new domain and just announce the change and make sure things look roughly the same.
In my opinion, the name of your app is great. I can suggest you to list your app on a platform called AppsHive. They are launching their app soon on Playstore and AppStore. It will give your app the boost as their platform has apps on basis of profession, location and category.
This can give your app the identity that you are looking for. Have a look at the platform: https://www.appshive.co/
I have tried to submit my app there multiple times all I get is: The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.
I like your current name! But i would probably not be able to spell it.
That is party a reason aswell to rebraind, it is not easy when saied in real
Yeah just sticking with your current app name is fine!
I voted yes because if you find a better name, it's worth considering. However, I don't believe that changing the name alone will lead to significant growth. The real issue, as with many apps (including mine), is distribution. Perhaps focusing on improving SEO and ASO or creating a dedicated subdomain like diary.memoiri.com or www.memoiri.com/diary could help. As an indie hacker, rebranding can be a challenging and low-priority task.
do you think this might help in getting a better seo?
