I was tired of renting product demos, so I built my own tool

Hi IH,

I built PokeDemo because I ran into a simple frustration while working on one of my own products: I wanted an interactive demo, but every solid option wanted me on another monthly subscription just to keep that demo online.

For something that might not change for months, that didn’t make sense.

What I wanted was a demo tool that did three things well:
record fast, edit cleanly, and let me keep the final result.

So I built PokeDemo.

The core idea is simple:
Record → Edit → Export → Keep the demo

You can go back, make changes later, and re-export without extra friction. The goal was to make demos feel more like an asset you own, not something you keep renting forever.

I’m curious:
What would be your first use case for something like this: landing page, onboarding, docs, or sales?

Would a one-time payment model make you more likely to use interactive demos?

Nice idea — the “own your demo” angle makes a lot of sense.

Quick question: where are you hosting PokeDemo right now?

I’ve been talking to a few people building similar tools and a lot of them are either overpaying or dealing with more infra complexity than they want.
