I watched 200 people apply for 1 job. That's why I built MockFriend.

A few months ago, I attended a walk-in interview.

I arrived early, completed the registration process, and waited for my turn. What I saw surprised me.

There was only 1 open position, but nearly 200 candidates had shown up.

The recruiters were overwhelmed. Applications kept coming in, candidates waited for hours, and there was no efficient way to identify the most qualified people. It wasn't a talent problem—it was a screening problem.

That experience stayed with me.

I started wondering:

What if companies could automatically conduct structured first-round interviews and generate scorecards before a recruiter even reviews a candidate?

That question eventually became MockFriend.

We're building an AI-powered candidate screening platform that helps hiring teams:

  • Conduct first-round interviews at scale

  • Generate structured candidate scorecards

  • Reduce repetitive screening work

  • Identify promising candidates faster

We're still early and actively learning from recruiters and founders.

For those involved in hiring:

What's the biggest bottleneck in your hiring process today?

I'd love to learn from your experiences.
