In case you missed it…

Ho ho ho, indie hackers! Or should we be saying, "oh oh oh"?

The biggest news last week came when OpenAI announced o3, a new reasoning model that approaches AGI levels of performance. Courtland wrote about what o3 means for indie hackers to help you capitalize on the new release.

Meanwhile, we learned that buy-now-pay-later fintech company Klarna replaced 1,000 jobs with AI in the past year alone. I expect to see a lot more like this in 2025.

Over in social media land, Bluesky is adding link click metrics to further appeal to publishers. Compare to X, where last month Elon admitted they punish tweets with external links, which makes it much harder for founders to use X for marketing their products and content.

Not to be left out of the social media wars, Twitter and Medium co-founder Ev Williams is back with a new private social network called Mozi. It's all about IRL relationships, and it doesn't have public profiles, follower counts, or feeds, so it's unlikely it'll replace existing networks.
