I built Instant Site Audit after I noticed B2B clients, of another SaaS web app I run, often have poorly written, insecure websites with basic on-page SEO stuff missing.
I'm trying something different by offering this as a pay-as-you-go service instead of a subscription; thinking being that most clients are likely to fix their site once and not necessarily need ongoing monitoring/testing.
I'd love your feedback on...
If you'd like to get a look at the full report for your URL, drop me a message and I'll run one off for you.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for taking the time to give some feedback @honestseo - it's really helpful.
I see why you would see it as a lead gen tool; the more I read the feedback I'm getting, the more I realize that this might be a good marketing tool for agencies.
When you mention "tools out there that focus on each of the specific areas" - totally agree, and this was exactly my motivation to build an all-in-one tool.
My thinking was that it won't provide the depth of analysis that those individual tools offer but it should, I believe, provide enough actionable info so as to not overwhelm average users with too much detail. And, bonus, they won't need to buy subscriptions which are overkill for their needs!
Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to come back to me.
I think this is a fantastic idea! The purpose and the value prop are quite clear, but I think the landing page is a tad too verbose (the copy is too long). I'd shorten it and make it more action-oriented.
Also, who's your target audience? I see you have a plan for €9 per report, so I'm thinking small digital marketing/SEO agencies, right? If so, then make sure the copy caters to them, explaining just how easily they can get results and optimization suggestions for hundreds of websites at once.
Hey @LanaRafaela thank you - you're absolutely right about the verbosity of the landing page - I think I was focusing too much on SEO and not enough on messaging.
I think on the target audience I'm kind of undecided and that's a problem really. I started out thinking I was targeting this at small business owners who have their own website. But actually you're right again, it's also probably useful for web designers and even SEO agencies too.
Thanks, more food for thought!
Happy it helped! :) Regarding the target audience, I'd personally recommend agencies and people using it at a higher scale because they'll be more likely to keep using you, as opposed to SMBs who'd use you once for their own project and then there's a chance of them forgetting you. Just something to keep in mind.
Thanks @LanaRafaela!
Hope that helps!
Thank you @wilbertliu that's really helpful feedback.
I'll give some more thought about how to better lay out the page design/flow.
I agree with your suggestion about the results page - I need to incorporate some teasers of the detail and quality of the advice you'll be getting when you buy the full report.
Thanks again!
The value proposition is not clear. Like we are struggling to make our landing page clear and UX friendly enough. I don't think speed, security or SEO are the first order problems we are trying to fix.
Plus it just says session timed out when I enter https://uclusion.com
Hi @disrael, thank you for your feedback.
The timeout issue is now fixed if you'd like to try it again - your URL should work now too @orliesaurus
The target audience for the service is businesses which have a website, either well established or in build, and want to make sure it's fast, secure and its on-page SEO is set up correctly.
Can I ask, what are the first order problems you are trying to fix?
Sure like if I could enter my URL and it would automatically tell me if the website doesn't work well at certain sizes or browsers. I realize that is a lot harder to do but I think is still technically possible.
Or another one would be a service that analyzes my website and recommends templates that would do a better job than what I have currently. Even harder to do I suppose.
Or maybe a feedback helper that automatically posts my website to every place like Reddit, IH etc. where people are willing to give me feedback and let's me track the responses.
Thanks for expanding on your thinking, there's some interesting concepts there that have triggered my creative juices!
Just on the browser size point... we focused on reporting mobile performance given over 50% of users access websites via a mobile device. If your site doesn't work well on mobile, you need to fix it.
Thanks again.
First thing I did was plug my blog on it and despite trying 3 4 times it said it was misspelled and then it timed out...
That being said.
1/ I think there's a lot of whitespace that is wasted
2/ I think that you could show an example report og what I am getting
3/ I think you can leave some space from customer testimonials or logos of companies you worked with in the past which you have helped with SEO, extra points if the logos are company that are pretty well known... alternatively logos from a vertical i.e. all doctors, all plumbers etc and then market the site to similar vertical
4/ last but not least, you don't have to teach people why seo is important but focus on what happens if they don't fix it, make them anxious to test how good or bad they score then give them the solution
Hey @orliesaurus thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback - it's really helpful.
Not sure why you weren't able to get it to work for your blog, if you shoot me over the URL, I'll have a look at what the problem might have been.
I'm waiting on some users before including testimonials etc. - you're right though, social proof is crucial.
There is a link to an example report but it's buried in the FAQ so that needs surfacing for sure.
Thanks for your take on the sales tactics, again you're right people who use the service will already know SEO is important so I need to pivot the messaging.
Thanks again, I appreciate your feedback.
