I'd need to reach around ~30,000 people, how could I do that?

Hi people!

I have a newsletter which I want to promote (currently at 300 subscribers, 1 week old) and I figured I'd need around 30,000 people to see it (in the entrepreneur niche, so not every people) to get to around 3,000 subscribers, which would be my next big milestone and I'd start some sort of monetization.

Info about my project & niche:
It's a daily free newsletter (later I plan to make it freemium) that sends out 5 business ideas to makers, indie hackers, entrepreneurs, etc.

I started thinking about paid ads (although I've never done it and it's not the indie way haha), how much would it require in $ to reach 30,000 entrepreneur/developer-like people?

Do you have any advice on how to do this?

I would focus on providing true value to communities your involved in - try different subreddits, Facebook groups, here on Indie Hackers. Try going on podcasts. :) There isn't one straightforward way to acquire newsletter subscribers, it's a hard grind!

      Appreciate the advice!

Now, the question is, "how would a person benefit from receiving more ideas daily?" In my opinion, that target market would benefit more if you are providing some sort of "tip to solve x" kind of thing or something more actionable.

Since they are more likely going to be busy building something already, getting more business ideas won't really benefit them & might even cause shiny object syndrome which will be detrimental.

    Just a thought. :)

You have good points, made me think :)

Reaching 30K people isn't the hard part (paid is the most straight forward like you said).

Convincing 10% of 30K people to sign up for a newsletter is hard. If you hit this conversion rate then you should call up your local marketing agency and demand equity + salary.

If your goal is 3K subscribers I would focus on the good old fashion method - create quality content that people want to consume. Heck I'll sign up for your newsletter if it is quality content.

"If you hit this conversion rate then you should call up your local marketing agency and demand equity + salary." I LOLd!

      Thanks for the suggestion! :)
