Recently, we’ve seen consumers hoard grocery supplies in fear that products will be hard to find in the future. This is creating a supply and demand mismatch in grocery stores. This is still happening even though grocery stores restrict what you can buy. In parallel, we’ve seen the restaurant distribution business waste thousands in excess inventory. A lot of these distributors have critical items that are missing in stores.

At Jupiter, we’re launching a new product this week in an attempt to solve this. To solve the hoarding problem, customers sign-up for a weekly recurring delivery of critical and essential grocery items. These items are sourced from the restaurant distributors who lost most of their B2B business due to the shutdown.

One example is a bakery we are working with. Previously, they sold primarily to Blue Bottle but now their orders have gone to zero.
