Idea for company offering Software Engineering as a Service.

A SaaS company that does two things.

  1. It is a market place for software engineers to be paid in equity-or-cash for their work in early stage start ups. There would be essentially be 2 main views. A list of start up ideas for the engineers to view, and a list of software engineers available for hire for the start ups to view. ( There are a number of platforms that do equity sharing for start ups, so I imagine some kind of API integration here )

An example post from company might be: (We want to add a trello like experience to our current web app. Payout is 0.01% equity)

  1. The second piece would be a code vetting process that ensures a certain level of quality to the software received. Some form of human and automated code reviewing process. This person would be essentially a "Lead"/"Senior"/"Architect" level who has solid experience in a particular tech stack and can give a reasonable review of the code and how it fits in to an existing code base. Idea here ensure the quality of what is being received.

( this partly comes out of my own experience working as a software engineer where some companies will out-source some piece of their codebase and are returned garbage. Without someone technical on their side they won't know that this code going to cause them a lot more head ache than it is actually worth. )

Any thoughts, comments, or cries of anguish would be greatly appreciated!

What you've posted is an idea that's been tried many times before in various incarnations and so far hasn't worked. Pretend that's not "the idea." What would be exciting is if you studied the history of those attempts, figured out why they failed, and came up with a novel approach. Whatever it is, that's the idea.
