Hi Everyone! I want to get your feedback on a startup idea I had earlier this evening. Everything is super rough but here are the basics
Name: [ReferMe] or [Refer My Business] - not important but figured I'd add
1-liner: ReferMe is a platform that facilitates the introduction of businesses to each other in order to facilitate the cross-sell of each other's client base (kinda rough but the example should explain).
Example: I am a retail store that sells athletic shoes and I have a strong feeling that my same client base would also likely like purchasing custom hats. I go to ReferMe and create an account / fill in the relevant information on my business (type, location, sell online or in-person, looking to sell your own goods, looking to sell someone elses, etc.). Then either the system will automatically or you can manually search for businesses in tangential industries to get an introduction to. The businesses connect on the platform, vet each other, agree to commission terms, and launch a cross-sell campaign. The platform would have all the documentation necessary and basically be the tool to handle the backend.
Pricing: Probably some sort of free-mium monthly model with various levels of introductions or something. Maybe a % of sales or something? Still chewing on this.
Why Now: Finding clients is hard, that's why marketers and sales people have jobs. By removing the friction of sourcing clients and instead focus on forming partnerships you grease the gears of business. More business for more people and you don't have to go on the hunt for your clients, someone else already has!
That's what I got, let me know what you think! Appreciate any and all feedback.
