Idea testing - feedback on your project/anything similar for 15 mins of your time (over Zoom)

Would anyone be willing to help me validate an idea that helps people share their thoughts, ideas, & lessons during an experience by making it easy to visualize the journey.

I'd like to test my message with you in exchange for any similar activity. Especially with those who keep a journal about their experiences and how they grow.

If you're interested, please reply to this thread and I'll send you a scheduling link.

Thank you,
Pritesh

Hey! I think your post is very insightful. I surely agree to many of the points mentioned there. However, I have seen many outliers that do have a difficult time taking off because they try to create a new habit or a behavior and that when I feel the aspect of product/founder fit comes into play strongly. One example I recently thought about was Airbnb. Without the understanding and the commitment of the founders to take time and create a fantastic experience for the users, I don’t think people would have been comfortable in living in a stranger’s home. Snapchat is another one. And I feel to many it might seem like a once in a lifetime idea but there is more to that. There’s more to how they understood the psychology behind their products and how they presented it to the user. That was their advantage over other companies in their space. So through collecting user experiences and not expecting them to use it, I feel like one could get into deeply understanding how the user currently behaves and how could the product slip into their natural daily rhythm.

        Thanks for the kind words!

I have seen many outliers that do have a difficult time taking off because they try to create a new habit or a behavior and that when I feel the aspect of product/founder fit comes into play strongly. One example I recently thought about was Airbnb

Airbnb raised $600,000 from YCombinator before they took off, and now have raised $4.4 billion dollars

Snapchat is another one. And I feel to many it might seem like a once in a lifetime idea but there is more to that.

Snapchat raised a $13.5 million Series A, and has gone on to raise $4.9 billion in total.

You're right that it takes product/founder fit, both of these companies had a couple years before they had any funding at all. But I wouldn't discount the financial advantage companies like this had over companies like yours and mine.

Oh I very much agree that financial advantage can be massive when it comes to growth. One common factor that I have seen for these companies that succeed is that they didn’t rush to raise. Like you mentioned they went on for a few years without raising and that’s what is very attractive to me. They took the time to find the fit and did things that didn’t scale. Then when it came to raising money, it was for growing quickly to establish themself as the incumbent. This is quite a tricky area as well because the idea of raising pre-seed/seed is to help the founders survive and try and find the PMF but at the same time raising too early could mean the end for many.
