Idea: text review classifier for business insights?

A text review classifier that looks through reviews posted from sites like yelp and google play. Then it picks out the topics that the favourable reviews mentioned and the topics that negative reviews mentioned. Additional features could time-based comparisons to show if a certain area of the business has improved or not.

This could potentially give business owners fast and accurate insights on which areas of their business is doing well, and which are not, without manually reading through hundreds/thousands of user reviews.

Potential customers include restaurants, amazon store owners, mobile app owners.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

    Nice idea Derick!

We've been working on something similar on Feedgrip, by applying NLP and advanced clustering techniques on user feedback for SaaS companies, be it reviews on Google, Yelp, etc or direct feedback acquired through Customer Support channels like Zendesk, Intercom, etc.

We've performed extensive research in the area, please reach out to discuss if interested! :)

Woah good job with Feedgrip. It's impressive how you guys are connecting different services and platforms.

      I will be in touch!

Hey Derick, thanks a lot! Our algorithms are (obviously) proprietary, extending relevant research in the area, however we can discuss directions, references and most importantly problems and issues with the product development except for the algorithms

Hi! Thanks for your comment! I agree with you that the NLP part is very industry specific. Didn't think of that before, so thank you very much.

I have mainly worked on research projects and hackathons with NLP via either VADER or Google Cloud APIs, so I don't have that much experience in the industry.

What are the general areas of application for your consulting projects?
