Idea to Product Hunt Launch in less than 40 hours - Just launched 🥳

We all fall into this trap, I’m guilty of it myself with my first startup!

On Monday my business partner @DiegoAtProxii and I had an idea of a way to give back and share a little bit of what we’ve learned from becoming indie hacker and build in public enthusiasts over the past 6 months.

The idea: I see requests here, on Twitter, and in my DMs of people asking for shining examples of indie hackers to follow on social all the time.

What started as a personal Notion list sort of ballooned into a full blown indie hacker CRM..

We decided to say, screw it, let’s turn this int a “product” and see if we can’t launch it on PH in less than 40 hours.

IH Directory is a free curated list of 101 indie makers, creatives, devs, bootstrappers, community builders, authors, and really anyone else who’s building and sharing awesome things in the online world!

Time spent: 20-30hrs

Money spent: $11 for a custom domain + $19 for a landing page built on Carrd by fellow indie hacker @ajlkn

No-code stack: Airtable, Carrd, Zapier, Twitter API, Photoshop (graphics), Premiere Pro (gifs)

Our intentions weren’t to build something that’s going to do $100MRR…we just wanted to undergo an exercise to launch something with value, FAST. We did this as a personal growth experiment, to learn, and to give back to the community…and to prove that launching something on PH doesn’t have to be scary.

We’re not concerned with the number of upvotes...sure it’d be great if it gets 100+…but more importantly, we hope it inspires you to launch whatever you’re working on FASTER and more often!

There’s something to be learned from their success…you don’t get better at baseball by watching videos, you get better by stepping up to the plate and taking swings!
