Idea Validation
I've had this idea for a while, of a voice-based social media platform, where all posts are voice clips, with various graphics for the soundwaves, comments can either be voice clips or text too.
I know making a new social media requires a lot of backing and users willing to be active, but do you think this is feasible?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I doubt this would catch on generally, but perhaps there's a niche where this is useful (i.e. among musicians, for example). My advice would be not to make a new platform as a first step, but to find a way to make this idea work on an existing platform (Twitter, Facebook, or whatever). If you get enough traction there, it may be worth expanding to other platforms, or even building your own at that point.
I think it would be hard to pull off because people are so visually stimulated. If you when the ASMR route and created a community around asmr and creating various track of different categories that could be something. (Celebs, Food, Whisper, White Noise) It's a weird trend right now that you could take advantage of.
I would have thought people are too hooked on visual media to go to voice. Podcasts are different in that they are a broadcast channel usually of an information base.
I could be wrong.
Voice require a lot of work to be understandable, for example exclude music, noises etc..
I think this could be interesting as a "podcast from the people", something like a crowd-created podcast by people, but to be interesting should be curated and edited I think
