Idea Validation - a no-code launch platform for simple MVPs

I'm currently in the idea validation stage and I keep spending too long building out little tests just to see simple conversions like signup rates. traffic, etc.

I'm thinking of building an MVP "generator" that can:

  • allow a custom domain (with ssl of course)
  • allow custom fonts/branding other customizations
  • easy/beautiful templates to start from
  • analytics / heatmaps / conversion rates
  • email gathering / waitlisting
  • simple forms
  • simple payments

If I don't get more than 5 upvotes, I won't build it. If I do, those that upvoted it can get it free for a year whenever it becomes a paid product :).

EDIT: Actually might need you to comment. I don't think I can see who upvoted the post.

Edit2: Damn, I'm actually going to have to build this now. Stay tuned!

Edit3: https://supersignal.dev is the first attempt

First of all, what do you mean by "MVP"?
Currently, it may mean many things.
    A landing page.
A working prototype of application (of which type?)
A working application (like a SaaS).
If it's a landing page, there are tons of "MVP builders".
If it's an application like SaaS, many solutions exist like mine SaaS boilerplate and others.
And if so, developers are usually able to set up their own custom domain (because you can't provide a working logic itself, therefore developers will do it). What they need is a boilerplate (app template) - a working app that already has many things out-of-box.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!
    Thanks!

eh I get your questions but disagree the path forward for this idea is a template (also I'm kind of covering this at SugarKubes which basically has proven to me people will buy templates but won't buy code) .

The mission might be something like: "Help people launch successful companies" so any / all of your questions would be within scope :)

      1. 2

the path forward for this idea is a template
I have never said that path is a template. It may be a template, but not necessarily. It strongly depends on the type of MVP.

Well, right, but in this case, the scope would be too big what is not good for a start.

    my first attempt is here!

    https://supersignal.dev.

It's not a low code platform but it does have some useful features for launching and testing MVPs quickly. I'd love your feedback!

i'd love that... even as a non-tech founder i can do all these things on WordPress, but it would be a nice time saver!

    I've been waiting for this.

This sounds very exciting! We’re looking at a future where more people have ideas than know how to code. Do it!

    1. 1

Ty! And I agree. It’s cool to think about removing code as a barrier to building software.

I feel like Oprah... "YOU get a free year!"

If someone made such a tool with free plans that include custom domains this'll be a market maker

    1. 2

noted. It seems like a really easy way to ask people for money but that might be a good strategy at the start. like the first 100 people get "pro" plans for free. you'll get one if you want it haha

I probably didn't understand your idea.

What does it make different from other no-code tools like carrd, landen or webflow? The only thing I see is that in these two solutions, I need to copy and paste GAnalytics and Hotjar code to have analytics and heatmaps, but it doesn't look enough as a differentiator.

    1. 1

I'd love for it to be comparable to webflow or landen.

Your idea is good and is needed by most who start. by the way, you are aware of launch rock right? How is your idea different/better?

    1. 1

oh no I haven't seen them! Let me try it out and see what i could do differently.

      1. 1

ok. I set up a launch rock site. Their analytics page isn't working so I haven't seen that yet but I think I get it.

Basically I want to allow for more kinds of behavior testing. Launch Rock looks really awesome for a signup form and a value proposition but certain products really should test as close to the full flow as possible or at least some kind of 2-3 step funnel (site visit -> sign up -> pay for something).

        Differences:

        • more complex user options (waitlisting + user signup + newsletter signup)
        • more complex user follow ups (if signup -> send this email)
        • simple forms (user sign up -> fill out form -> collect form responses)
        • payments (user signup -> put in credit card (for pre-payments))
        • automatic ssl (allowing payments)
        • funnels / analytics (or even allow google analytics for those that want that)

EDIT: I had to turn my ad blocker off to see their analytics. Looks like they invested a lot of time on this section. I don't know why. just use google analytics? I basically just care about my conversion metrics. If I want to go into this detail, why wouldn't I just put my own google analytics code in there. I get that it's nice to have it all in one place, but why re-invent the wheel.

tbh, I don't know if I'll be able to help myself from just building a full-on low code / no-code platform.

awesome! I've come across your site before. Really love your landing page! I'd be very curious how your pricing ends up working out when you get a few customers.
