[Idea Validation] Charging to send email

I have an idea that I would like to validate. Email is the most used service on the internet based on https://www.statista.com/statistics/183910/internet-activities-of-us-users/

People are getting emails everyday, personal, promotion, social, whatever. Most of those emails are not read, people just don't care, it goes to spam, trash, you forget to reply...
What if there is a service which will charge sender for sending an email. It won't guarantee that the receiver will read the email and replay, it will guarantee that.

Imagine making senders pay $5 to get in touch. Your inbox is now a source of income and all the messages you get are worth your time.

  • People who pay to send really want to get in touch, so you won't be getting random emails just like that
  • You as as receiver will know that person paid for that email so you will probably want to take some time to read any reply
  • Receivers earn percentage of paid email
  • Potential customers would probably be some "VIP" people like businessesman, journalists or influencers

I need to find my targeted group, I was thinking about: influencers or journalists. But then again let's say I'm a journalist and I ask from people to pay to send me their stories, someone might not pay and I would miss some cool story and other journalist won't miss it because he allows everyone to send him an email

Also it might be very weird for people when they try to send email and get some kind of notification that they need to pay in order to send email, it might be repulsive.

What do you think?
