Idea Validation: Smart HR Hiring & Analytics

Hey everyone.

I have an idea for an HR Sass application that acts as a central hub for recruitment. You can create your LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed etc. job posts, and manage the responses you get.

For example, you can view how well your job posting is doing for LinkedIn, and do A&B testing to see if job posting B performs better than job posting A.

This would help recruiters identify why they are unable to find hirings for specific job postings, by boiling down key things like, the quality of the job post, the quality of the job board, and the quality of the job itself.

The idea is good, but pay attention to Linkedin in particular, they changed their API so many times in the last 2 years and I don't know if you are able to create a job listing with a 3rd party app anymore. I work in HR and I can help you with some advice if you want/need.

      Thanks for the feedback.

You're absolutely right. The first obstacle, and a challenging one, is to somehow find the right API's, and ensure the platform is staying up to date with any API changes. I know of a sass app called JazzHR, which the current company I work for uses. The platform allows for recruiters to create job applications, and post them to various sites like LinkedIn and Glassdoor. I don't believe though, that the platform extends to data analytics; see which job posting is working, and which isn't etc.

I'd actually love to ask you some questions, would you mind if I shoot you an email?

I can see value here and I think you are solving a legitimate problem. My understanding (I'm not in HR) is that posting to LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor cost money so I didn't think jobs were being posted to multiple platforms. It seems orgs will have their preferred platform and primarily post there. I also wonder if there is a shortage of applicants or shortage of GOOD applicants? My understanding is the latter is often the case.

I'm playing with a similar, but not overlapping, idea and have gotten some positive feedback. How are your UI and visual design skills? I'm strong on the back-end but not the front-end so am thinking of partnering with someone on my HR idea. Happy to share more if you're interested.

I'm not sure if it costs money to post jobs in multiple platforms. I'm going to find out more information by asking my co worker in HR, to see what painstaking problems they have, and what kind of a solution would help them make their jobs easier.

What I do know is that, they are not aggregating any of their job descriptions, and seeing what content is working on what platform, and with what type of job.

I would say I can do both the frontend and backend. I have some experience with React, and with data aggregation / modeling with SQL and backend API experience.

I'm definitely open to learn more about your HR idea, shoot me a message!
