Hey IndieHackers!!,
Was thinking of a new idea of having a tinder like app but instead of matching people for date we match frontend developers to backend developers and backend devs to frontend.
Problem:
While starting to develop a new project, a person may be awesome with his backend development skills but might suck when it comes to creating a great UI.
Or a person might be a great UI/UX developer but might suck in backend skills.
Solution:
Have a website that works like tinder but instead, it matches great frontend developers with great backend developers. Like a backend guy can check work done by frontend developers or vice versa and swipe right or something when he likes someone's work and if the other person likes their work too then its a match!!!
IndieHackers feels like the target market for my idea so I'm really keen to hear your feedback.
It’s good to validate an idea instead of asking for other’s opinions, as ultimately opinions do not matter. My opinion on this is a hard no. There are a lot more aspects to development than the usual backend/frontend distinction. I’m interested in hearing others’ takes on this though.
Ya, I guess only the tinder angle might not make it. It sure needs something more to it.
I can imagine a backend dev browsing a frontend portfolio to find someone to make a design/template for them. But it's quite hard the other way round? Especially quickly and visually.
Yeah, I was thinking of like checking their past projects or where they work and what they do. So something like on the basis of that.
I think the Tinder angle isn't so good. Since one is assessed - at least initially - visually, but the other cannot be. Maybe some mileage in allowing these two group to connect though, I'd imagine it's possible through some existing platforms but if it is you could always do it better :) or add a niche like saying its for IH/personal projects not contract work etc. and build the style and copy around that.
Yep..will have to find a better way than the current platforms and make it more specific to this.

We can check backend by his previous work or like if he is currently in backend job.
Yeah, something like Grindr or even more like separate forums for UI devs and backend devs and also networking, mentoring can be great.
