Idea validation: Travel packing list reminder

Background:
I sometimes forget to pack something before I take off for my flight. Things include an eye mask, phone charger, melatonin pills, etc. These are little things but when I forget them can make an otherwise smooth travel experience a frustration especially if I have to get by without it or purchase a replacement.
To solve this problem, I'm exploring the idea of an app to store your travel packing list online and remind you to pack the day before your flight. Once you register on the site, simply create a master travel packing list of essentials items you must bring every time you travel. Next, you would then sync your Google Calendar which would contain all travel dates/times so that it knows when to remind you what to pack.

While I encourage the entrepreneurialism and taking action in validating, I don't think this is the one for you.
(While I'm not the target market as I pack light and am usually going places where I can readily purchase anything I missed) - If I were to need reminding of what to pack I would just use something like todoist, notion, google assistant reminders or one of many other solutions.
I don't think this solves a problem that is unsolved or solves it in a better way than other alternatives. Then you have the tricky aspect of monetisation. When there are readily available alternatives how will you generate revenue?
I don't like to be discouraging but I figured it may be better for you to hear this early in the journey so you can redirect your efforts towards something more fruitful.

I have to agree here. I had to travel a lot in 2019 and ended up needing a list to make sure I didn’t leave any critical items. Notion was more than adequate solution in my case at least.

I, personally would not use a product like this. Whenever I need to create a list associated with some kind of event, I just do so in my notes app and look at it whenever I need it.
However, it seems like you're interested in creating a product involving travel. What about a product that tells you what kind of things you need to pack or be prepared for, based on your destination? For example, in Cuba it is not recommended that you drink tap water and bottled water is definitely recommended. In places like Libya and Spain, you definitely should have a very high UV sunscreen. Maybe a traveler's notepad about how to prepare for a journey to certain places?
Another way to generate ideas is to ask other frequent travelers about problems they face.

What makes this 10x better than an existing solution?
To me you're integrating with Google Calendar but on that invite or creation of flight I can just set a reminder for 3 days out with my packing list (that way I can order from Amazon Prime anything I'm missing and get it before I leave).
I don't see this being worth downloading with the abundance of easy solutions that come pre-installed on phones.

This wouldn't be a downloadable app, but rather just a one time set up in the web and automatic reminders. Going forward you would just do any packing list updates on the web.
Fair point regarding setting a reminder on your Google Calendar.
This is down the road, but I think what I would imagine making this 10x better is being able to read the flight number off your Google Calendar and enabling you to network with other folks on the plane based on common interests. It would stay anonymous and the only identifying information would be your seat number.
What would make this better for you and worth taking a look at? Also what kind of solutions come pre-installed that you use on your phone?
Virgin America let's you chat with other people by seat or buy drinks for seat numbers it's creepy.
It's a hard pass for me.
I'm not female, but I already know the response of all my friends in relation to connecting with people on the plane. It's a huge nope.
The last thing you want to do is connect with someone on a flight where you have no means of leaving a confined space.
When I traveled a lot for business it was headphones in, leave me alone. This is the typical feeling of most travelers.
Notes in iOS is great for shared list packing and otherwise with live updating for everyone.
In terms of downloading apps: Google Keep, Google Docs, Evernote, etc.
They all work really well to organize trips, potlucks, or any other event where different parties need to remember to bring things.
When validating any idea two things need to be present.
