Ideas to get more subscribers to my blog?

Hi everyone, I've been blogging for quite some time, but I'm having trouble being 'found' and really incentivizing people to join my weekly newsletter. I'm curious if someone could give me some insight.

Here's a link to my blog: https://marketingqualified.com/blog/
And here's the landing page: https://marketingqualified.com/get-the-weekly-newsletter/

I just clarification or ideas on where this needs tweaking/ideas to grow it.

Thanks to those who decide to pitch on this thread :)

Bonus: It'd be amazing to hear your thoughts while you browse my website.

What is your current strategy to drive traffic to your blog?

    1. 1

The strategy I followed at the start was quite strict, but over time not effective.

To be totally honest, my method now has been to just publish, publish, publish.

I share my content on Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn however I'm not getting great traffic from these places. I created a few blog posts that hit on keywords and that gets me some organic traffic, but they're not really converting.

People who HAVE subscribed tell me my content is realistic, practical, and cuts through bullshit. Some subscribers told me my blog is one of their favorite things to talk about and one person even said they have my blog saved to their Chrome Toolbar!

That being said, it's not blowing up or growing - can you suggest what I should do? 😅

To be honest I was missing the practical on your blog a bit😅 But let's see if I can give you some advice. I've never had a highly visited blog but I can give you my 2 cents.

Those people who already like your blog, what do they like about it? Is it the subject you write about or your writing style? What I would like to know about them is the following:

        • What other blogs do they follow?
        • Do they read on medium? Which publications do they follow?
        • What topic on your blog do they like the most right now?
        • What do your readers right now have in common?

I think your blog can get more traffic when you post articles on the right websites as well. For example, when I blog on medium.com I try to add my post to a publication cause this increases the amount of reader a lot.

Besides that, is there a specific niche you can target which might be interesting (hence, question 4. I know Justin Jackson has a marketing for developers book which can imagine, sells pretty well. It’s still general marketing perhaps, but he targets a market who might not be really marketing savvy.

This is insightful and good questions for me to ask. Side note, I saw you post on a few other threads and thought your feedback was great.

It's tricky. The people reading my stuff range across a few different segments: They are all in the space of entrepreneurship. They own businesses locally and rely on a local market. Videography companies, fuel providers, local government people who put on startup events, aspiring CEOs, and aspiring founders. The ones who've stepped forward to pay me are companies that want to get their businesses up and running outside their local region. App companies, YouTubers, videographers, etc. They want to break out of their local region and take their business to the next level.

          1. I dont know what blogs they follow, but in conversations they've all referenced different YouTubers.

          2. To my knowledge, they're not reading on Medium, but I'll double-check. They might find medium articles, but aren't actively browsing medium.

          3. Topics they like the most: growing and connecting with people outside the local region. When I post interviews with founders in Australia or France or the US, they're very wow'd by that. They know me for my skills in (1) connecting with people online, (2) configuring CRMs & automation, (3) programming digital ads, and (4) my SEO abilities. It's a bit of everything which can be painful when trying to describe what I do (choosing a niche, etc).

          4. I alluded to this above. They're people who want to be in charge. They say unpopular things in their workplace, challenge themselves and others, rely on critical feedback (both ways), and see a brighter future for themselves. They work hard and aren't afraid to push themselves out of their comfort zone!

And as always, I like being a fair sport and offering something in exchange for your time, energy, and effort writing the response you did. Really, it means a lot to me.

If there are any websites or projects or anything you'd like some eyes on, please feel free to send my way :)
