The hard part is distribution. When you make a good product but nobody sees it, it's not alive yet. The same is for ebooks, mini-courses, and videos. You need a distribution strategy to acquire reader and viewership.
If you try to frame your content like other viral videos but without the foundational subscriber base, it's not going to go anywhere.
Quality is super important to even engage in a distribution.
What you're talking about is an audience.
I agree you need an audience to drive sales but my post was about selling not growing :)
Also if you're giving away stuff for free you will actually grow an audience very quickly. Think of the email or share to download landing pages etc.
Great point, and a big part of distribution is having a strong network, or finding a new medium / platform to distribute to.
