Broadly speaking, a Youtuber owns the right to the video they create. As does an author of an article or the creator of a podcast.
But as for the discussion and discourse of the content in question, does the creator also control/moderate and therefore be held responsible for the comments? Or should the audience be allowed to say and share as they please?
It's a good question, and I'm not sure there is a clear answer. I think it depends on the platform and the creator's intent. For example, on YouTube, it seems like the creator has more control over the comments, while on Twitter, it seems like the audience has more control.
That makes sense, I'm trying to find out what situation it's best to give the power to the creator vs when it's best to leave it to the audience...
