I have founded couple of SaaS companies in the past. I found that figuring out what to build, how to build is pretty straight forward ( I’m not in category creation game ). But I have often struggled with growing my SaaS during those initial days. It was not because of my lack of knowledge of growth channels, but it was primarily because I didn't know which one to invest my time & energy depending on the company's situation (industry, market, ACV, MRR).
I’ve decided to spend enough time analysing how successful founders grow their SaaS during first few years. But I couldn’t find a single source which could give me above data.
I have started interviewing SaaS founder to collect data around metrics & acquisition channels. It might take years before I can create a meaningful database with real patterns.
Given that I have started this very recently, I would love to know from folks if this is going to be worth my time. More importantly, is it going to add any value to the SaaS community in general ? Love to hear your thoughts.
Yes!
