If I get people subscribing to my mailing list, then it is a good validation for the idea?

I am based out in Tokyo; I see a market in Recruitment(foreigners) here. So, I wanted to create a job board and a community around this. Before doing all these, I thought it is important to validate the idea.

So, I came up with a blog post titled "Getting a Tech Job in Japan" (https://medium.com/@lakshmanLD/getting-a-tech-job-in-japan-31e7a22a6836) and attached a Typeform at the end of the post to subscribe to the mailing list.

If I get people subscribing, then it is a good validation for the idea. What are your thoughts?

It's a positive sign that people may be interested in what you are up to and the list can be used as a way to gain traction on what you are building, but it doesn't mean people will post or look for jobs (which I assume is your end goal).

You were right, that was my end goal. But I don't want to do a full-fledge product launch and then feel dissatisfied when no one is using it. Mailing List Validation -> Talking to subscribed users -> MVP -> Then final launch

    Hey @tgld

It's a nice idea! I'd rather measure the active email subscribers (i.e. open and click rate) to define your validation. Coz it's relatively easy to get an email, so you need to generate high quality content to encourage them come back. Excited to see your launch!

I also put up a small project to support the Asia tech community, would love to hear your feedback!

Hi, getting people to subscribe definitely means they're curious about it.
A suggestion for your product, add Visa requirements for working in Japan :)

Yeah, that should be a must-have feature. Thank you @bachellerieloic

Yeah maybe before I launch, talk to the people who subscribed to the mailing list to understand their needs and then go with an MVP.
