How do you deal with direct negativity towards something you have poured your heart and soul into?
"I was at this stage of just going, 'Oh, this is awesome. I'm in it, I'm doing it.' Because early on, you're just so driven by that passion. If you can distill it and focus it, then you're fine. Sure, there are ups and there are downs, but you just get up. The 'Oh my God, what am I doing, maybe we should just pack it all in' moments happened later in the story. For us, 'later in the story' was a year or two ago, we had stability bugs and it felt to me like it was just collapsing all around us. We couldn't write a stable fix fast enough. I was waking up to 20 odd emails every day for six to eight weeks, like 'Why isn't this working? This is a waste of money, I want my money back.' All this kind of stuff. It's just demoralizing. But equally, if you don't have those things happen, you don't learn that resilience. Which is vital, and now, when my entrepreneurial students are like, 'Yeah, we just want to do it and go all in, it will all be amazing!' I'm like, 'Hold on. Yes, love that. But I'm going to tell you a story...'"
