If you had an idea for a podcast series what are the first 5-10 things you would do?
I have been thinking about building an audience first before I start building any other products. I have decided that developing a podcast and atomizing it into blog posts, short and longform videos would be the best way to provide value, build connections and build an audience.
I could use some help identifying the urgent and important, hopefully some insights from my indie hacking comrades might help.
What would you do if you were building an audience first?
I think the most important thing to do is to support the community that you intend to create a product for.
For example, if your audience is interested in Raspberry Pi's then I would engage with the audience and help out as much as you possibly can. This will help you slowly but surely build an audience. Try and keep with your audience engaged by getting them to subscribe to a newsletter or email list.
When launching your product, it would be good to test it with five people that can give you constructive feedback before you do launch to your wider audience. Feedback is one of the most important things to help growth.
