If you have kids - how do you explain what you do?

I was a developer a few years before we had our first son, was a developer while we had our second son and 20+ years later I'm sill a developer.

I have been very lucky and worked from home their entire lives. They have seen what I did and worked on everyday.

When I explained what I did I think I explained I built things the same way things are built in the real world but just inside my computer. I think they got it.

Unsure I did a good job but they are both devs, one now works for GitHub and the other for Sega.

'Daddy thinks about things a lot' ;) Yeh it is difficult to explain to a five year old honestly.
